If you or someone you know might be suffering from a mental illness like depression. Here are the signs you should look for if they might be having suicidal ideations.

  1. withdrawing from friends and activities
  2. Losing interest in hobbies or pleasurable activities.
  3.  Lack of energy
  4. Feeling hopeless, helpless, or negative

If you spot any of these signs in you or someone you know please speak up and talk to your friend. Let them know that they are not alone and that they are loved. Let them know that there situation isn’t, unusual and that 1 in 5 adults live with a mental illness. Once they have have opened up to you. Listen up and start asking questions. Listen up about what they are saying to you, and ask questions so they know that you are listening and paying attention to them. Next, you need support them and encourage them to get professional help. Matter of fact, why don’t you help them find professional help so that they know that you care about them and you want them to get better.

  1. People should pay more attention to this. As a person who has been diagnosed with depression. It’s hard to open about it because lots of people say we do it just to get attention they don’t realize it’s an illness and we need help and treatment

    1. I so agree with you. My boyfriend has depression and I have been telling him that he can always open up to me. But he has been closed off his whole life he doesn’t know how to open up
