Hey everyone! Sorry that I haven’t posted in a long while. I have been busy with my new amazing job as a prep cook. anyways here is my post. for the people who have anxiety and depression, one of the many tools and activities that really works for me is trying to keep busy. Now that I have a great fulltime job as a prep cook I am always busy with work and it totally distracts me with my thoughts that make me anxious and depressed. If you do not have a full-time or even a part-time job than go out and volunteer and help someone else that needs the help. You will be amazed how calm and humble you will be when you decide to help someone who needs the help and love. I have worked with kids most of my career and it is a very rewarding experience. You can be a CASA ( court appointed special advocate) for kids in the foster system. you can volunteer at children’s hospital and brighten a child’s life that is in the hospital. When I was in children’s hospital when I was in the eighth grade it brightened my day when I got visited a pug and being visited by a family was great. The nurses and doctors were amazing as well. So if you do not have a job to keep you busy you can always volunteer your services to help those in need!!!! also you can always just write down your thoughts and feelings down in a diary to get all of those emotions and thoughts out. You also can go to school and take a few classes to keep you busy. So there are lots of ideas and opportunities to help you cope with your mental illnesses besides the obvious professional help.
